Performance Notes:
Just back from the show and all I can say is this is a whole other band than what I saw last year. Great performance with an unbelievable groove. Baracco brings something a little spacy to the mix and Audley was just on fire the entire night. Driving Wheel and Eagles were highlights, but overall just a great night with an even better vibe throughout the place. That's in spite of the sports fans at the bar who were talking just a bit too loud for the bands liking! Just makes me look forward to Hartford that much more. Nice meeting some of you folks at the show too. -[bigvic]

this show just fuckin rocked! the new cover is SICK. kinda funky in a james brown way, with each member gettin a spot to solo, with chris on harp. alot of cool little jams throughout the show, one during ride when stevey d played some sort of flute type instrument, and the band just jammed with it. there was an incredible intro jam to girl on the mountain also! - [chibet]

Small venue. Maybe 400 people. Packed house. Was pretty hot in there. Tiny stage. I got there early and was able to listen to the sound check, like getting 2 shows for 1. Chris was in a more upbeat, talkative mood. Band of course was tight and loud. Another Great show. - [axldog]

----- --- -

When I heard this venue moved from the old location I expected it to be bigger, It was tight in there and hot, but the sound was great and it rocked. I knew Chris was going to lose it because there was so much chatter going on.

Audley's solo in Girl OTM Made everyone shut up and take notice. I've been listening to alot of those new shows from the tour and I don't remember hearing sizzling playing like last night. I was friggin blown away.

Toward the second half I think they were enjoying themselves a little more and the crowd definately turned themselves around.

There were also so many hot chicks there. The HAl Nation Girls were out in force. If you were
1. brunnette with red top
2. brunnette smokin a J center club
3. Girl with the plaid skirt
4 chick that looked like Alicia Silverstone
5. or the very cute girl with the MASH shirt
Take a bow because you are hot and you were distracting me from the show until Audley started smacking me in the head with guitar again. Excellent night all around. Can't wait til this one surfaces. - [Virtue]

hi all-
well it was certainly not easy to get up and go to work this morning. last night was absolutely incredible. audley freed blows my mind, and I think he definitely had the place on fire last night. Chris was in excellent form as always and Rob is probably the happiest guy I've ever seen, smiling the whole time while wailing on the keys. The whole band smoked. Out of all the NEM shows I have been too, this was my favorite for the most part due to the setlist. It couldn't have been any better. It was really hot in there last night, Audley even said so on stage, but that affected nothing on stage, if only made them better.

My favorites of the night were:

Eagles on the Highway
Ti Na Nee Ni
Driving Wheel

and Train Robbers was great too.

I had fun dancing up front with all of you guys, and so nice to meet everyone! See ya'll in Boston. Thanks again for the ticket Rick.

Pam and Chibet, hope you guys got home okay. - [C.R.]

Got to agree with most everything said about the show. Audley was smoaking and got a huge applause when introduced to the crowd. Alicia Silverstone chick, did distract me from the show, and dam she can dance.

On Ride Stevey was making the flute/horn sound with just his hands. He cupped his hand and blew into his thumb and index finger like a trumpet. The band was digging it. Can't wait to relive this one.

I think in respect to CR the newest shirt or hat should be the NEM ear logo with the saying "more tapers less talkers".

Look forward to meeting some more folks next weekend. Oh and the dude with the list left out the hottie fashion designer near the front of the stage. - [kejab22]

Audley was a madman last night. I knew he was going to suprise a lot of people, but I had no idea that he would suprise me! Ive seen Audley tear it up with Mule and Peaceful kenievel, but nothing prepared me for his performance last night. Absolutely smoking. Chris was at the top of his game too. In fact, the whole band was great. One minor complaint though, those spacey jams go nowhere and would be better served with a couple more songs or even more rocking jams like sunday sound or girl on the mountain. I could do without ever hearing that ali baba jam again. - [fordtrucks]

----- --- -

All I can add is, God Damn, what a smokin show last night!! I know some people said that Sunday Sound lost some shimmer with Audley a few posts ago, but if you were there, he jammed the ending soooo hard, it was mind blowing, I was more than impressed with his guitar work all night, especially in the middle of the show when he was literally attacking the guitar, I thought he'd break at least 2 strings with the ferocity he was playing with... And you have to hear Chris' rant, "If you want to chat then go back to your computers and chat online, cause this isn't going to happen very often..." or something to that effect, I was cracking up.

Sorry to not run into CR or Rick last night or anyone else for that matter, maybe next show, peace. - [MorningSong]

Was it me, or did it seem like Chris missed his mark on what should've been the last verse of "Sunday Sound" (you know how he really screams the last 'We will find our wayyyyyyy'). Right after that, George seemed to look over at Chris, with that "What now?" expression, Chris just kinda smiled and then they proceeded to jam it out after another chorus. So I'm thinking that jam at the end was completely spontaneous. Shoulda asked Audley about that after the show, but I forgot.

Speaking of Audley, man, did he THROW DOWN last night, or what?! Sheesh. Brendan, you really nailed it ...

And I absolutely agree with you about the spacy jams going nowhere. I'd much more hear them break out "Piece Of Wind" or "Sea Of Love" than drag out that trippy dippy stuff.

And "Ride" just goes on wayyy too long. I know a lot of people have a lot of fun with it, but the song is just way too repetitive and drawn-out to be played every single night. Since I haven't seen the Mud since Halloween, I really enjoyed hearing it last night. But if they keep playing it every show, by the end of the second Fox show in Boulder next month, I'm gonna be hearing 'People, get ready ... to Riiiiide' in my freakin sleep.

Oh, and I thought "Fables" was a bit of an ill-placed downer as the first encore. The main set ended on such an upbeat high note. I woulda much preferred "Kids That Ain't Got None" if they wanted to go with something slower.

I think "40 Days" and "Train Robbers" were my highlights, amongst many. One of the bluesy/funky covers ("Te-Ni-Nee-Ni-Nu", I think) really blew me away, too ... really grooved ... very PK sounding.

Can't wait til Sun ...[ThornInNYPride]

SHU-BLAY-BLAY!

Great show, I like the new songs as well. Audley ripped, Chris' voice is in top form, I love this band better than NEM#1, and I love this band better that the Crowes from BYS to Lions. Ti Na Nee Ni was an excellent choice, nice dancable blues....I liked 40 Days and Girl On The Mountaina lot as well. Did anyone see the Junebug that lit on Chris' hair? During Ride or one of the last few song.

I met a few more ppl last night, plus met up with some old friends...good to put faces to names and all. Funniest comment after the show, on the sidewalk by an unknown concert-goer--> "I wish Chris would have mixed one or two Crowe's songs in the set, tho." - [neatahwanta]
