| Performance Notes: |
Well after seeing both nights of the Chicago shows, I am left with a huge smile and my face. Both nights were fantastic but I would say that last night, the 25th was outstanding.
Was it just my imagination or was Chris smiling more than he normally does? The whole band just seemed to be 'on' last night and that made for an inspired set. Chris getting in the southern rock and roll preacher mode and singing his heart out just took my breath away.
As for Hard to Handle-man it was so nice to hear him sing that again, even if it is their most overplayed song in the crowes catalog. But the place did explode and before they played it, it seemqa like the band was confirming with eachother - do we really want to play this one and chris smiled, nodded and they went right into it.
I only wish i had tix to 10 more shows...[aprazza]

Hard to handle was freakin' amazing. Warren and Paul were trading licks like no other. Chris really seemed to be into that song...actually, he seemed to be enjoying himself the entire time. That chicken dancing he was doing was hilarious! Totally suprising...i dont think anyone planned on them playing that song.
Cold Wind Blows was extremely tipped out...it was rockin and freaky at the same time....I think that Ride was quite possibley the best version i've ever heard. Mother of Stone was a perfect opener for the night...in all, great show!
Another cool part of the show---Rzab playing instead of Andy for Mule's encore of Soulshine - [amorican]

of the NEW EARTH MUD songs performed at the 2 night stand my favorite was definitly the Oh, Well... What a treat... FLeetwood Mac being from London and the Stacy's being from London I think it had special meaning for those boys... NEM's lead player was really into what was going on out there... in other nem shows I've seen he dosen't get overly emotional out there (thats for Chris and Laks) during this number he moved to the front of the stage and took a few poses. Antoher great moment was Matt shooting CRAZY Mick Fleetwood stares out on to the crowd. So cool... HOT ROOM + HOT SOUNDS + SARDINE PACKED FLOOR = ROITOUS TIME!!! - [chi-panic freak]

what a great show! seems like everyone there had a blast!
southernmud, painted8, and myself got into the neighborhood around 2:00, met up with BC24 and flowerchild024 at the city suites hotel and headed over to pat's pizzeria! we were joined by shannon and her husband, lilsexie and a friend, and crowelottalove stopped by to say hello! we missed pattimoe and julie by about 10 minutes as we headed over to get in line! got to see the entire band, kate included, as well as matt abts walking around outside the venue! very cool!
the mud came on at 8:00, and tore through a killer set! mother of stone was a perfect opener! really got the crowd going! the highlight for me had to be sugaree and ride! possibly the best version of ride i have heard! it really highlighted every band member on the stage! a great show all around, and i can't wait for some more 3+ hour sets!
crowelottalove! although it was brief, it was nice to meet you again! sorry about the lions bro!
TAPEAPE! it was nice to finally meet you! we really appreciate all the work you guys do for us!
hope everybody else enjoys the shows the rest of the way!
sorry the rest of you couldn't join up with us at the pre-show! it would have been nice to put some more faces with names!
hope to see you on down the road! - [TOMW]
